Product Description

Our Sophistication Trio Gift Set is a beautifully packaged set of some of our most exclusive and finest teas.

  • Spring Bud Yellow: (0.5oz / 14g) This yellow tea is made with only the best buds and leaves, resulting in a beautiful downy leaf and delicate, sweet flavour. Yellow tea is processed in a similar method to green tea, but with the added step of covering the leaves to conserve warmth and moisture. This intricate processing method yields a more complex fragrance and flavour. Historically, the colour yellow was reserved for the court of the emperor. Yellow tea was – and is still today – a gift worthy of royalty.

  • Sencha Supreme: (1.25oz / 35g) Japanese green teas are steamed to halt oxidation and preserve their bright green colour, distinctive flavour, and fresh aroma. Sencha is undoubtedly the most popular tea in Japan, known for its freshness, delicate sweetness, slight marine flavour, and green vegetable taste (you may detect notes of asparagus, spinach, or artichoke, for example). Steaming also begins to break down the tea leaves, so irregular leaf size and a slight cloudiness in the cup are hallmarks of true Japanese Sencha.

  • Hairy Crab Oolong: (1.5oz / 43g) Chinese teas are often named for the appearance of their leaves. This sechung oolong has serrated leaves and fine downy hairs – just like a little Chinese hairy crab. This is a lightly oxidized oolong with a floral fragrance and notes of peach and vanilla. It has a mild, smooth flavour and is very easy to drink. Oolong teas can be infused multiple times, and should be steeped at slightly lower temperature than boiling (85°C or 180°-190°F).
