Cinnamon is a spice obtained from the inner bark of several trees from the genus Cinnamomum, a moderate size, bushy evergreen tree of the Laurel family.
Native to South East Asia, Cinnamon is cultivated in Sri Lanka and India, as well as in Bangladesh, Java, Sumatra, Brazil, Vietnam, Madagascar and Egypt.
Murchie’s Cinnamon Deluxe is imported from Indonesia, and has a woody, astringent character and a pleasing aroma.
