    Product Description

    Sage used in cuisine is derived from Salvia officinalis, a perennial, evergreen shrub with woody stems and purplish flowers.

    In the Middles Ages, Sage had a reputation of having healing and medicinal properties. It was sometimes referred to as S. salvatrix (sage the savior), and was one of the ingredients of Four Thieves Vinegar, a blend of herbs which was supposed to ward off the plague.

    Today though, we traditionally think of Sage for using in meals such as roast turkey and stuffing or stuffed pork tenderloin, and other family favorite meals.
