Chaiactually refers to the generic word for tea in Hindi, but throughout the western world, Chai is known as a mixture of black tea and spices that are prevalent in Indian cuisine. Milk, sugar or honey is traditionally added to Chai tea. The addition of honey or sugar brings out the flavour of the spices in the brew.
