Different processing techniques provide a completely different flavour for Japanese green teas. Genmaicha is one of Japan's favourite.
Genmaicha is sometimes referred to "popcorn tea" because a few grains of the rice pop during the roasting process.
The steeped tea has a light yellow hue. Its flavour is mild and combines the fresh grassy flavour of green tea with the aroma of the roasted rice.

- 'Popcorn' TeaReview by Eleanor - Murchie's Team Member
- Tried this tea after being requested to bring home "popcorn tea".. when I first heard this I laughed, however I was happily surprised at how easy it was to find this blend. A very smooth, nutty/buttery green tea that I would definitely recommend everyone to try at least once! (Posted on 2012-06-21)
